Getting there

  • Go in through the Blue Gate. Parking is free in the Blue Lot.
  • Your ticket is a QR code sent by email. It's scanned at the door and swapped for your show badge; badges aren't mailed out.
  • VIP badges get in 30 minutes before show hours.

Accessibility

  • Accessible parking, including van spaces, is in the Blue Lot (first come, first served).
  • The Disability Assistance Program (DAP) booth helps if long queues are hard for you because of a disability. No stickers or wristbands, and it isn't instant access to guests; one friend can stay with you in line.
  • In an autograph or photo op line, tell any staff member what you need; they'll work out a plan with you.
  • Every panel has ADA seating for mobility, hearing and vision needs, for you and one companion. Ask a panel attendant.
  • ASL interpreters for some panels, meet and greets, photo ops and vendors: ask at the table next to the DAP booth, or email wasummerconinfo@gmail.com ahead for priority.
  • Service animals (dogs and miniature horses trained for a task) are welcome; emotional support and other animals aren't.

Good to know

  • Everyone goes through bag screening and metal detectors at the door.
  • Under 16s must be with a parent or guardian all the time; 16 and 17 year olds can come on their own. Some programming is adults only, with ID checks.
  • No camera smart glasses (like Ray-Ban Meta) or hidden or wearable cameras anywhere in the show, even switched off. Need one for a disability? Contact Horror Con before the show.
  • No filming in autograph and photo op areas unless you've paid for a video, and no photos in guest lines except a paid selfie. Panels can't be recorded.

Money: cash and cards

  • Autographs and table photos are paid for at the guest's table, not ahead. Photo ops are sold online, with any left sold at the show.
  • The fairgrounds list cash machines at the Blue Gate and on the northeast side of the Showplex.

Cosplay and props

  • Props are checked at the entrance; anything not safe goes back to your car. Get your prop peace-bonded at the table by the entrance gate before you go in (and props you buy at the show, as soon as you can).
  • No real projectile weapons (even with a permit), no sharp steel, and no working airsoft. Blades stay sheathed, and no brandishing or mock fights, parking lot included.
  • Airsoft and Nerf guns must be made unable to fire, and every weapon must look fake from 10 feet away. Props and closed wings no wider than 4 feet.
  • It's a family show: no vulgar or sexual costumes. Seal heavy makeup with fixative. Take face-covering masks off at the entrance and exit, and where you pay or show ID.

Food and water

  • The Fair's own food stands are open: burgers, pizza, Fisher Scones, Elephant Ears and drinks.
  • You can bring your own snacks and unopened drinks.
  • We couldn't find vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options, allergen information or water refill points listed by Horror Con or the Washington State Fair.

Toilets

  • Wheelchair-accessible stalls near the gate entrances and throughout the grounds.
  • Universal restrooms throughout the venue, for wheelchair users with an attendant, anyone who prefers a gender-neutral restroom, and families who need more space.

Safety and LGBTQ+ fans

  • Horror Con's rules ban harassment, including comments about gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, body size, race, age or religion, plus stalking, unwanted touching and harassing photos.
  • Cosplay is not consent: ask before taking anyone's photo, and stop if they say no.
  • To report harassment, whether it happened to you or you saw it, tell any Security staff member right away. Staff can also call the police or walk with you.
